A veteran New York actor, Robert Hogan portrayed Judge Hugo Bright on the long-running television series Law & Order. Over the span of his long career, he’s appeared in over 150 primetime shows. Some include Law & Order Criminal Intent, HBO’s The Wire, Third Watch, Ed, Cosby, Deadline, Hill Street Blues, M*A*S*H, and the Hallmark Hall of Fame production of Cupid & Cate. In addition to nighttime programs, Robert has played memorable characters on nearly every Daytime Drama: All My Children, As the World Turns, One Life to Live, Another World, Days of Our Lives, and the unforgettable Phil Brewer on General Hospital. His many film roles include portraying JFK in Prince Jack and roles in Species II, Day Zero, Lady in Red, Sweetland, Maze (directed by Numbers’ star Rob Morrow), Town Diary, Blue Xmas, Gone are the Dayes, Greenwich Village Story, In Memory of Us, Hamburger, the Movie, and the classic Michael Crichton film, Westworld. On Broadway, Robert created the role of Matthew Markinson in Aaron Sorkin’s New York stage debut, A Few Good Men. Also on Broadway, Robert played the ghost of Hamlet’s father and the First Player in the celebrated Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of Hamlet. Other New York stage performances include: Boy, What Didn’t Happen, Further Than the Furthest Thing, Baby Dance, Hope is the Thing With Feathers, Rainbow Kiss, Waiting for Lefty (directed by Joanne Woodward), Major Crimes, Lighting Up the Two-Year-Old, Rutherford and Son, In the Western Garden, On the Bum, and his Outer Critics Circle Award for his portrayal of famed attorney, Clarence Darrow, in a play about one of the most notorious murders in history, Never the Sinner.
On a personal note, Robert is a graduate of New York’s American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He studied acting under the renowned acting teacher, Stella Adler. Robert has three sons, and currently lives with his wife, Mary—a successful Young Adult novelist—in New York City
